Meetings

• The Chamber Board of Directors meets every third Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the Chamber board room.
• The SADCO Board of Directors meets every second Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber board room.
• The DOIT Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 a.m. in the Chamber board room.
• The Membership Committee meets the third Thursday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in the Chamber board room.
• The Program Committee meets every second Thursday at noon in the Chamber board room.
• The Strategic Planning Committee meets every second Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Chamber board room.
• The Marketing Committee meets the third Monday of the month at noon in the Chamber board room.

Executive Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the Executive Committee is to provide overall leadership to the Chamber, to serve as the chamber’s representative on boards and at events; to draft and recommend Chamber policies for board consideration; to monitor the financial, programmatic and operational activities of the Chamber; to recruit board members and promote board service. The Executive Committee meets the third Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. prior to the Board of Directors meeting.

Goals

• To develop a program and operational structure which meets the needs of our members and can be supported by the financial resources of the Chamber.
• To review and revise where necessary the Chamber Constitution and By-Laws.
• To foster leadership.

Membership Committee

Purpose

To promote Chamber membership and recruit members; to develop, promote and evaluate programs and services which meet the needs of the membership; to publicize Chamber activities to members, area businesses, organizations and the community.

Annual Banquet Committee

Purpose

To provide oversight and planning of the Chamber's Annual Banquet.

Program Committee

Purpose

To develop, promote, and evaluate programs and services which meet the needs of the membership; to publicize Chamber activities to members, area business, organizations and the community.

Goals

• Plan ten programs which provide opportunities for members to interact and increase individual business opportunities.
• Issue quarterly newsletters; issue press releases about each Chamber program.

Transportation Task Force

Purpose

To develop a short and long term plan addressing transportation needs in the Shippensburg Area 2001-2004.

Marketing Committee

Background, Vision, and Mission

The Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce Marketing Committee was established in 2005 in response to requests from Shippensburg businesses to initiate marketing efforts for the local business community. The comittee's goal is to develop and implement marketing activities that support Shippensburg business, resulting in a successful Shippensburg business community with a vibrant downtown.
