Three events dominate the Shippensburg summer scene. The March to Destiny Civil War Living History Encampment & Reenactment is held the last full weekend in June in historic downtown Shippensburg. During the last full week of July, the Annual Shippensburg Fair, displays livestock, agriculture skills, crafts, produce, all in competition among residents in Cumberland and neighboring counties. The nationally famous Corn Festival, held the last Saturday in August, attracts over 40,000 visitors annually to the blocked-off streets of downtown Shippensburg. Over 300 stands are set up for crafts, collectibles and foods, many of which are derived from or inspired by corn. The winter scene begins the first Saturday in December with Dickens Days. The streets are turned back in time to the Victorian Days, with highlights including the Holiday Parade, Victorian Carolers, Carriage Rides, Victorian Dance Ensemble, Mannequin Contest, visits with Santa, and Candlelight House Tours.
