Initiatives

Mixers—Mixers are an ideal place to network and spread word about your business. Mixers are sponsored by a vast array of Chamber members, from automobile dealerships, to banks, from restaurants to realtors. The Mixers are planned to coincide with the seasons of the year, and many major holidays, perfect times to spend time with friends and business associates. Of course, food and good conversation are included with every Mixer.

Annual Banquet—The Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet is a time to take pride in the success of your business. All Chamber members are invited to attend. There is good food, award presentations, and of course, dancing with fellow members and friends of the Chamber.

Golf Tournament—The Golf Tournament is a chance for Chamber members to advertise their business and support the Chamber, and it is a chance for everyone else to enjoy a relaxing round of golf. Held in the fall, it is a great way to celebrate the coming of a beautiful fall with your local Chamber.

Seminars/Programs—The Chamber of Commerce, in association with various other businesses such as the Small Business Development Center, hold seminars on everything from starting a business to learning how to make more profit. These seminars are incredibly helpful for everyone, from the brand-new entrepreneur to the seasoned business giant.

Chamber Initiatives
Shop Ship Campaign—The Shop Ship initiative was created by the Marketing Committee to promote Shippensburg as a business center while emphasizing its historic character.

Loans and Grants—The Chamber is working to establish low cost loans and provide businesses with updated business plans and aid in starting brand-new businesses.

Community Forums—In 2008 the Chamber began organizing town-hall-style community forums to bring business owners, consumers, and local leaders together to discuss the business climate, economic and community issues.
