Lunch N' Learn

The first Lunch N' Learn took place on Monday, January 23rd at Knute's Pub & Grill.  It was extremely successful. About 35 people attended. We thank the event sponsor Shippensburg University.  The speaker, Bob Stalbaum gave the attending business persons many enlightening marketing strategies that are sure to help them to increase their business in the future.  The Membership and Program Committee (MAPs) is vehemently pursuing speakers for future Lunch N' Learns.  If you have any questions or suggestions the committee would greatly appreciate your input.  Please contact the Chamber at 717-532-5509 or chamber@shippensburg.org.

Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Meeting

The Annual Business meeting was held at the Shippensburg Area Middle School on Wednesday, January 11, 2012.  The opening remarks were given by Ms. Beth Bender, Assistant Superintendent of the Shippensburg Area School District. "The Accidentals" delivered an excellent beginning of the meeting by singing the National Anthem and "The Jazz Hounds" provided an outstanding musical performance for the audience.  The student council, Joseph Facchinei, Taylor Junkn, Caitlin Proter and Luke Lyman each gave short a presentation. Tony Damore said a few words on behalf of F&M Trust, our gracious sponsor.  Thank you, F&M Trust for your sponsorship. Then the 2011 Chamber of Commerce Board President, Donovan Yaukey reviewed the great happenings of the past year and talked about the new and exciting things in the works for this coming year. Dr. Tim Ebersole, our Loaned Executive Director announced the election of two new board members, Bruce Hockersmith and Shreen Farr to the Board of Directors and recognized the two board members that are leaving the board due to their terms ending.  They are Chrystal Miracle and Lisa Souders.  Thank you Chrystal and Lisa for your time and devotion to the Chamber.  Excellent work!  Each committee chairperson, including SADCO and DOIT gave a report on their committee's progress over the past year.

After the Annual Business Meeting the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors held their Board Meeting to elect the new officers for 2012.
