State Parks
Caledonia State Park, 101 Pine Grove Road Fayetteville, PA 17222, 717-352-2161 Located on Rt. 30 between Chambersburg and Gettysburg, the park features a large swimming pool, 2 campgrounds with tent and trailer sites, fishing streams and over 400 picnic tables

King’s Gap State Park, 500 King’s Gap Road, Carlisle, PA 17015, 717-486-5031 Kings Gap offers environmental education programs, hunting, fishing, 16 miles of hiking trails, and mountain retreats. The Mountain retreats take place three times a year and allow you to stay in the beautiful Cameron/Masland mansion. The spectacular view overlooking the valley is definitely worth a couple hours of your time.
Colonel Denning State Park, 1599 Doubling Gap Rd, Newville, PA - (717) 776-5272 Colonel Denning State Park offers 273 acres of woodland and a 3.5 acre. The lake and beach is open to swim from late-May to mid-September, 8 a.m. to sunset. This park is a great place to spend some time fishing and hiking.

Burd Run Nature Trail This half-mile trail will guide you along a meandering stream that was restored to its historic location in 2001. Along the way, interpretive signs will teach you about the project, its purpose, and the wildlife around you.
